Things to do in Chia

Chia's beaches are backed by some of Sardinia's tallest dunes, and at Su Giudeu a sandbar — sometimes walkable, sometimes not, depending on the tide and storms — leads out to a small islet just offshore. A 16th-century Spanish watchtower still stands guard over the bay, and the lagoon behind the beach draws flamingos in spring and autumn.
